Why is dingo dave leaving radio forth
Does any body know who has taken on Brian Paige's job as Bauer programmer Scotland since he passed away last month? Bauer have signed Ewen and Cat up to a new contract to keep them on Sunday mornings. I can't say anything about Forth, but Clyde's line-up seems to be working very well as things stand. Bowie is Bowie and while Grant is less known to many of us he's ideal for that slot because: a He's younger, for one thing, and that's what the Hits Radio mentality is about these days b He works well with his co-presenter and travel person Amber, who is also younger and etc etc.
As things stand, Ewen and Cat work very well at the weekend where there's a bit more room to have a chat, and it also means there's no risk Heart give them another go. As it stands, Clyde have an incredible roster of talent to choose from. The old football manager thing of "it's a good problem to have", there's a succession of people who could do breakfast at the drop of a hat. However, it would be mad to replace Bowie until they have to.
I wouldn't be surprised if he's there as long as there is a Clyde 1. I don't know exactly how Ewen and Cat would translate to a Clyde audience who have grown up with a different style of radio - and there are subtle differences between the old Real format and Clyde. I have no doubt they are both excellent presenters who I imagine could step up if required. However, given the trajectory of the Hits Radio brand it strikes me as more likely Bauer would go for Grant and Amber should the time come and Clyde is still local.
Heart Scotland is a little complicated. It should be performing far better than it does - last I checked it was behind Clyde, Smooth and Capital in a part of the country with an ageing population I could be wrong here, shout me down if I'm incorrect.
