Who is peter dinklage playing in x men
Due to widespread fan discontent about the show's 50th anniversary celebrations — mainly centered on the special itself being only 60 minutes long and only eight other episodes plus a Christmas special airing in — the BBC has taken the unusual set of releasing this response to one fan's query:. I understand that you are feel there are insufficient programmes planned to mark the 50th anniversary of the series.
I also note that you are unhappy with the way in which series 7 has been split into two parts. Whilst I appreciate your concerns, we haven't announced what we have planned to mark the 50th anniversary of Doctor Who yet, but we would like to assure you that fans won't be disappointed. Additionally, please note that the decision to schedule series 7 in two parts was a creative one and we're sorry you are unhappy about this.
While the decision to split season 7 between and probably was indeed a creative decision, considering it allowed Steven Moffat to construct a proper swan song for the Ponds in the first half and to introduce Jenna-Louise Coleman's new character in the second half — not to mention move the show into the winter months, as has been Moffat's stated goal — that doesn't really address the more commonly stated issue that another full season won't kick off until at the earliest.
While the handling of season 7 probably was a creative decision, the non-commissioning of a season 8 for later this year was probably more of a financial one, given the BBC's budget woes.
Anyway, the bigger story here might well be that the BBC isn't officially committing to the single hour-long special as the full extent of the anniversary celebrations, even allowing for Mark Gatiss's docudrama on the genesis of the show. So, if you want to hold out hope for extra Doctor Who anniversary programming, you have the BBC's permission to do so.
Writer and executive producer Maurissa Tancharoen revealed that filming has wrapped on ABC's pilot, which was directed and co-written by Avengers director Joss Whedon.
Shohreh Aghdashloo, whose past roles include the villainous Dina Araz on 24 and an Oscar-nominated turn in House of Sand and Fog , will reportedly take on the recurring role of Stefania Vaduva Popescu. She's described as "a powerful ally sought out by Claire Coffee's Adalind" and "is referred to as the 'Zigeunersprache,' or Queen of the Schwarzwald Gypsies, and her family's roots run deep in the woods of Austria. The 19th episode is reportedly called "Taxi Driver", and here's a small teaser about the title character:.
She will play Camille, described as "a college psychology student fascinated by the study of human behavior unaware of the supernatural universe that exists around her. Meanwhile, Claire Holt will reportedly reprise her role as original vampire Rebekah Mikaelson on the show, presumably as a series regular. Just when I thought Lost Girl couldn't come up with any more awesomely silly puns for its episode titles, it hits me with "The Kenzi Scale. Anyway, here are some promo photos for the episode, and the description is below:.
The gang is forced to stage an intervention against an increasingly erratic Bo. Bo believes the only way to save someone close to her is to accept help from the person she trusts least — only to learn the truth about secrets kept by the people she trusted most.
Here are some special Valentine's Day images. If I'm perfectly honest I can't say that I think the reaction to the Anniversary stuff so far from Who fans has put them in the best light. Now I'm not saying it's wrong to be disappointed in whatever the BBC do - but the fact of the matter is we have but a fraction of the whole picture here in February The anniversary is still 9 months away! I've certainly been less inclined to discuss Who talk with other fans because of the constant, extreme bickering and whinging going on, it's just a depressing atmosphere, the exact opposite of what you'd want in the 50th anniversary year.
If the Episode itself is a letdown, or any of the other stuff the BBC may or may not show is, by all means, be disappointed then, I will be too if I don't enjoy it. But the level of anger and the discontent now, when we don't have the full picture, just seems silly to me. The A. About Gizmodo Advisor Gizmodo Store. By Alasdair Wilkins. Continue reading. This comes as a serious surprise, since this casting seems to confirm that the film's villain will in no way tie into the original comic story.
Mystique's Brotherhood of Evil Mutants were the heavies then, but Dinklage's casting and Mystique's essential role as a protagonist in "X-Men: First Class" means that this villain will be totally unexpected… unless Singer really wants to up Avalanche's profile.
MTV Geek investigates! The internet immediately assumed that Dinklage would play Puck, the diminuitive, tough-as-nails, cigar-chomping, beer-guzzling ol' buddy of Wolverine. Dinklage could nail this role, effortlessly, and the X-Men films have a history of turning heroes into villains for plot convenience Madrox, Psylocke, Angel Salvadore and Maverick come to mind.
While this is a longshot, and Puck really bears no connection to the assumed plot of this film or the existing characters outside of Wolverine, I wouldn't advise Alpha Flight fanatics to give up hope yet. It's already been teased that the giant, mutant-hunting robots that play a pivotal role in the classic "Days of Future Past" comic book story will pop up in the film adaptation.
If that's the case, then those robots will need a charismatic creator, one who can put a frightening force of pure, human hatred behind the emotionless drones.
As Bolivar Trask, creator of a genocidal army of robots, Dinklage would get to chew up scenery like never before. Just picture a heated, sweaty, s televised debate between Dinklage and James McAvoy's Xavier about the future of the mutant race.
It'd be perfect. With Marvel's film franchise looking towards the cosmos, Fox could be angling to go the same way. If that's true, then there's no better villain to take them there while simultaneously threatening two timelines than the mad emperor of the Shi'ar Empire. Singer did go on record in an interview with HitFix to say that with the time travel plot device in Days of Future Past , he will be able to "I'll be able to correct a few things," referring with a smile to the continuity errors in the film.
Can he recast Bolivar Trask as someone entirely different? You may know also him from various television and radio appearances covering the superhero beat, co-hosting the Screen Rant Underground and Total Geekall podcasts or founding and building Game Rant back in the day.
