Which is better azureus or utorrent
Anyway after running it for 2 days here are the issues I've encountered so far. Vuze does not want to quit out after running for a few hours and I have to terminate azerus. Vuze does not download some torrents that download fine in utorrent I've checked giving Error: NullPointerException.
Large single torrents with file sizes over 30 gigs seem to be very glitchy aka crushing the client while loading. Just tried to download same torrent with vuze and utorrent. Utorrent was about 10 times faster.
Plus I have noticed when I use Vuze the entire broadband connection slows down dramatically, including on other computers from same network. Under active i don't mean torrents with status "seeding" but torrents with actual transfer. Of course uTorrent is better. Firstly it takes seconds to start up, Vuze takes the best part of 30 seconds. Secondly, without trillions of useless config options, such as what colour you want the download bars, uTorrent has a small footprint and thus runs faster.
Thirdly not lastly either , uTorrent actually downloads magnet links, unlike Vuze which has refused to work properly since it became Vuze instead of Azereus. Vuze is ok as long as you are not using your pc while your downloading as it uses up a lot of resources, utorrent on the other hand is lightweight, a little slower downlloading but not by any signifant amount uses much less resources but not as customisable for me I prefer utorrent as I don't use any of the plugins that vuze has but still a good program.
Most people look for speed, simplicity and light-weight download. Vuze is open source and has a few more features than uTorrents I heard.
It is attractive, since a person like me would have an opportunity to dig into its code :. So I compare them from different level. As a normal user, I prefer uTorrent. As a developer or as person seeking extra options, Vuze would give me that. You have provided excellint information about torrent agents. Please visit my lens titled Download HD Movies and tell me what you think about it. Check this out:. Are you actually saying that speed depends on program itself?
I started this thread to hear peoples views on the ever decreasing ram memory as utorrent is run. Enough of the ridiclous 'safe' BS then. Happens on half the forums. Azureus does not make you any safer really. Nope, can't say that I feel the way you do at all. I'm not experiencing any problems with utorrent. Same with most members here. If you're having problems with the client, they can be figured out.
Its a shame that you'd give up on such a great app, that, need I remind you, will only get better with every build released. The developer s respond timely to forum posts reporting bugs and have thus far been releasing new versions with major improvements more quickly than most apps I've seen.
If you wanna go back to the bloated, blue frog You'll be back. Yap i never said i wd never come back to this client. I just said maybe in the future when im fully convinced with the client. And, just so you know, those RAM booster programs dont help in the least bit. Use something like PeerGuardianLite which offers blanket protection.
I use pg2 so i cant be bothered abt safepeer. When dht is introduced to utorrent, i will be glad coz many public trackers are half the time down. Im using utorrent again and see how it goes. I've tried this with torrents from various sites. Ya utorrent connect slower to the peers and seeds.
But speed is not determined by the number of people u connect to. U can connect to less and still get greater speeds coz u connected to the right ones. I tried Azureus and didn't like it. It uses up too many resources on my old computer. It's certainly worth you trying both on your system to see which performs better. Vuze also created another torrent client a few years back, calling it Vuze Leap.
This one came as an attempt to make Vuze use fewer resources and features while simplifying its GUI. The simplification comes because Vuze is generally overly complicated, and it simply has too much for the average user. It certainly offers more than most users will ever need. So, if you ever felt like the original Vuze is slow and too bloated, Vuze Leap might just be the solution for you. If you don't feel like switching to uTorrent, that is. Check out our round-up of the top 21 Torrent sites.
As you can see, both of these clients have their advantages and disadvantages, but they also both have dedicated user bases that will defend their preferred client for as long as they need to. If you appreciate a simple approach, go for uTorrent, but if you like to experiment, tinker and play around with features and settings, Vuze is your choice.
Your email address will not be published. Recommended VPN Providers 1. And as I said before, what matters is the result. Ut downloads X and azureus downloads Y in Ztime And then I tell you to read above why I hope that your tests will be useful for the devs.
Speed comparisons between bittorrent clients are dependable on a incredibly large array of different variables which all need to be implemented into an even bigger array of different tests,. In other words to get a accurate test you would need uniformaty in the internet. Which is impossible. No, you can get accurate enough, but 2 short tests is nowhere near enough to draw a conclusion, especially without knowing the hardware, software and settings that may be influencing it.
Seeing as we're going round in circles I could actually quote myself here but I won't. The law of averages sees to that. Now, it does seem that the majority of people who post fall on the side that Az is quicker than uT and it also does appear to be true that, in torrent site forums that I read , uT is getting a bit of a rep as being slow on speed.
This fact alone should make the devs at least look into the matter. Yes, I do realise that the folks who post are usually the ones who have something to bitch about rather than heap praise but just saying "adjust the settings" why aren't uT's default settings as quick as Az's, for christs' sake?
Get a life! I think we all agree that "2 short tests is nowhere near enough to draw a conclusion" so why not do more? I don't have time especially at this time of year to organise it myself but I reckon I can stretch myself to install Az again for the sake of bad "science".
Any takers, or are you all too scared. If you look over on their support forums on sourceforge, you'll find the same exact problems that you find here.
The issue's been fixed in the betas. You're actually talking about the law of large numbers, not the law of averages Sounds like an interesting plan I know from my experiences that it can go just as fast as any other client, and that's enough for me. No wuss here, just a satisfied user ;P. U can manually set all those settings that were set in the wizard anyways. They also have a wiki to show good speed settings etc etc.
Dont bash me, I use utorrent.
